Permaset Aqua Fabric Printing Colour

Jackson’s stocks a very high quality, sought-after range of screen printing inks called Permaset.
Permaset Aqua Fabric Printing Colour is a 100% solvent free, environmentally friendly formula that provides pigments that are rich in coverage, intense and produce exceptional colour yield. The resilient resin base holds fast during rub, wash or dry clean while having virtually no feel on fabrics. Permaset Aqua performs at a higher standard with enhanced screen stability and an extended open time to produce cleaner results, longer.

They can also be used on paper, lino, wood, for block printing and on most non-porous surfaces.

Permaset

Ideal for use on cotton, polyester, silk and most synthetic fabrics. Permaset Aqua is low odour and can be easily cleaned up with water. A first-rate innovation, Permaset Aqua is the perfect textile artwork solution that consistently enables limitless creativity. It is heat set with an iron.

Screen Material: For Standard Colours, mesh size of 43T (110 TPI ) monofilament or 10TXX multifilament is suitable.
For Metallics, Phosphorescent and SuperCover Colours, 32T (86 TPI) monofilament or 8TXX multifilament is recommended.
If stencils are to be used, they must be water resistant; check first.

By using advanced polymer technology combined with the purest pigments Permaset Aqua results in an environmentally friendly easy to use ink that provides long-term durability without compromising its superior soft handle. With over 40 years of manufacturing experience, Permaset is recognised by both the professional trade and the fine artist as the premium supplier in screen printing inks.

Permaset Aqua is a revolution in fabric & screen printing inks.
Designed around the latest in polymer technology to offer an exceptional blend of softness and durability; printed garments exhibit a very soft, comfortable handle while the finished prints show outstanding wash and dry clean resistance. Prints actually protect natural fibres and display outstanding adhesion and stretch on synthetic fibres without the need for any additives.

PERMASET STANDARD PRINT PASTE is the basis for all Permaset Fabric Printing Colours. Standard Print Paste can be used for a large variety of material substrates.

Permaset Print Paste

Permaset Standard Print Paste is designed for use as a tintable base for printing. Permaset Print Paste is tinted using the Permaset Tinter Range, ideal for large print runs where the Permaset colour range is not suitable, economies do not suit or the requirement exists for specialised colours not offered within the Fabric Colour Range.

BENEFITS

STANDARD PRINT PASTE, once cured, possesses outstanding washability, excellent rub and dry-clean resistance. Prints made from the Standard Print Paste offer excellent definition, outstanding coverage and soft-medium handle.

CURING

Curing times and temperatures are critical to the wash durability of the product. The cure time/temperature cycles are as follows:
180 C = 2-3 mins
140 C = 5-6 mins
120 C = 8-9 mins

Fabric type will effect the curing cycle. Wet prints should be cured in an oven or tunnel dryer.

PRINTING

Screen mesh sizes of 32T-43T are suitable for most applications. A standard two pulls of the squeegee are required when printing. The first penetrates and covers the fabric, while the second levels the print. Always ensure that there is sufficient ink on the screen for even prints.

Recent government research revealed that between 5-6 million or 1 in 6 people (17% of population) regularly participate in visual arts, textile arts and crafts to create and express themselves in a simple, purposeful way. It seems that arts and crafts are an increasingly effective antidote for millions to living in such a chaotic, uncertain world and one so dominated by economics, shopping, consumerism and technology.

One woman with an unswerving, lifelong passion for all types of crafts and especially textile art, Jamie Malden, founder of Colouricious, believes that for many people real happiness is derived from ‘being creative, making things yourself, trying something new’. Academics have claimed the dominance of economics over culture is being reversed as the ‘Creative Class’ emerges where innovation and creativity are a more effective way to drive our economy, business, cities, communities and lifestyles.

Jamie is on a mission and knows that there is ‘creative spirit’ in everyone and believes greater happiness in life is derived from nurturing this fundamental need in us all. She plans to share and pass on the joys of one creative route, that of textile art and crafts, with as many people as possible. Colouricious.com is the vehicle she has created in order to achieve this.

In 2008 Jamie invested her own savings, turned her passion into a new career and started Colouricious, a growing and popular multi-media source of all things textile art, specifically created to share knowledge, inspire and teach more people how to create their own textile art at home.

Working alongside many of the UK’s leading textile artists, Jamie and Colouricious try to bring a refreshing, accessible and comprehensive range of products to ignite creativity and enhance all levels of textile arts and craft skills.

She created a production company and turned her house into a film studio in order to make professional, broadcast quality programmes offering complete step by step guides. “When I looked, there wasn’t much out there in terms of easy to follow guidance made professionally and I thought film was the most visual, best medium to show people the beautiful, inspiring things we can all create at home.”

In addition to their website Colouricious also have a blog.
