The FishWick Papers printmaking exhibition

THE FISHWICK PAPERS

Curated by ‎Katja Rosenberg the FishWick Papers exhibition celebrates the printmaking heritage of Hackney Wick at the Smokehouse Gallery with over 50 artists from the East London Printmakers studio.
Sep 1st to Oct 2nd.
Gallery Opening Hours:
Thu + Fri 17.00 – 21.00
Sat 12.00 – 17.00
Sun 12.00 – 17.00

Forman’s Smokehouse Gallery is proud to present The FishWick Papers, an exhibition of works by 50 members of the studio East London Printmakers, inspired by the liveliness and colour of the Hackney Wick area and its printmaking heritage. Artists have researched how Hackney Wick presents itself at this moment, the history and future of the area, the many lives of people we have never known and will never know, their trades and stories, and they have also taken inspiration from Fish Island and H Forman and Son’s Smokehouse itself.

The exhibition has been recommended in the First Thursdays Top 5 Exhibitions and Events list for September 2011.

Returning to London for the second year running, the Palace Art Fair is organised by the team behind the highly successful and well established Brighton Art Fair. The fair is a small scale more intimate art show in contrast to some of the capital’s vast art ‘warehouse’ events.
Set in the beautiful grounds and main building of Fulham Palace, the environment for viewing and buying art is perfect! Fulham Palace is a hidden gem in central London – a beautiful and historic Tudor/Georgian Palace – formerly the country home of the Bishops of London right by the river at Putney Bridge, just a 10 minute tube ride from central London.

The Palace Art Fair showcases around 100 contemporary artists and groups working across all media exhibiting and selling their work direct to the public. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and provides the ideal opportunity for first time art buyers and art collectors to discover, talk to and buy direct from up and coming and well established artists.

Painters, printmakers, ceramicists, photographers and sculptors are chosen in a rigorous and competitive selection process to represent the most exciting and eclectic work across as wide a variety of methods and subjects as possible.
A beautiful cafe in the Georgian wing of the palace and on the outside terrace provides an area to relax and contemplate potential purchases.
