Christmas Craft Fair

The Waltham Forest Arts Club will have a table at the Christmas Craft Fair at the Mill in North East London with prints, cards, drawings, mosaics and other artwork. The fair will also have jewellery, knitwear, accessories, photography, ceramics, crafts and cake!

A unique international art collaboration for Caledonian Forest has been unveiled in Edinburgh on behalf of Trees for Life. It has been organised by Trevor Jones who says in his notes to the exhibition:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to support a great cause and to own an original work of art. Moreover, every artist is very generously donating 100% of the sales to Trees for Life! The United Nations declared 2011 International Year of Forests and early next year Trees for Life aims to plant its one millionth tree! This would be an amazing achievement and we want to help make this a reality by raising £10 000 through this exhibition.”

Trees for Life is an award winning conservation charity working to restore the Caledonian Forest and all its species to a large contiguous area in the Highlands of Scotland.

Entrants are required to draw, paint, or collage a picture of a fun Olympic sport for animals! You can show your animals competing in a real Olympic sport or create a new sport for them.

Imagine Long-Jump for Kangaroos, frogs and fleas, animals racing, the elephant gymnastics team, weight-lifting ants, or lizards stretching their tongues to catch the furthest fly!

‘London You’re A Lady’ at E17 Art House exhibits a selection of art from top East London printmakers, painters and illustrators exploring the many sides of London, from awe-inspiring architecture to long-gone shops and tongue-in-cheek London characters.

E17 Art House is located in East London a few minutes walk from the Victoria Line tube station at Walthamstow Central.

The Wandsworth Artists’ Open House takes place on the weekends of 1/2 and 8/9 October 2011 (11am to 6pm) and is the big event in the Putney Artists’ calendar. It gives Putney Artists a chance to sell their work direct to the public from their own homes and studios.

They include: Dick Bates, Joanna Bielska, Jo Bowen, Lorrie Cannon, Ken Cox, Lumina Dyer, Helen Fickling, David Giffard, Gurley, Ann Hawksley, Dan Hodges, Sim Hock Neoh, Carole Irwin, Margaret Knott, Ricky Leaver, Ian Lettice, Elizabeth MacDonnell, Mike McInnerney, Allan Manham, Nigel Murray, Charles Penny, Sheila Roe, Susie Scott, Alan Smart, Jane Theophilus, Fleur Tookey and Gilbert Whyman.

On the first weekend of October 2011 artists and crafts people across the borough of Lambeth will be opening their studio and work spaces to the public. Doors will be open from 10am to 6pm, 1st and 2nd October and admission will be free (check individual venues for dates and times of private views).

One of the many locations is the Portico Gallery.
