  1. Hi, I started using Oil paints about 6 years ago.I had always just been a keen amateur watercolour painter, also mixed media;oh and by the way I am still an Amateur. Having used a few different Oil Paints and begun to understand how important the small print is. I.e. Lightfastness, tint power,semi-opaque or transparent and drying time for instance. And if you happen upon Pthalocyanine blue or green good luck, as I have never seen such a small amount of pigment go along way, like around suffolk. Be warned, turps rags in abundance and Fairy for your brushes. But one needs a set of brushes just for these particular pigments. And it’s true it does not make one an Artist, but it gives me a confidence that I know what is going to happen and that is useful! But in comparison to other pigments which I still use from Williamsburg to sennelier do it yourself,Michael’s pigments just seem to shine for me,I can just sort of tell that they are made with what I would call LOVE. It seems to work for a struggling but devoted painter. Thanks Yours James.
